Overview

Achieving Google Play Integrity certification and unlocking Google Pixel-exclusive features on non-Pixel devices or custom ROMs requires rigorous property consistency across all system partitions. Inconsistencies between ro.system.build.fingerprint and underlying vendor properties can instantly trigger attestation failures.

Maintained by Elcapitanoe, Komodo Pixel Props is a systemless root module that modifies build properties, security attestation flags, and Google framework sysconfigs to identify your device as a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL (komodo).

Core Architecture & Integrations

1. Unified Multi-Partition Identity

Rather than simply patching /system/build.prop, Komodo applies consistent build ID, product brand, model name, and fingerprint values across every Android partition:

  • ro.product.model=Pixel 9 Pro XL
  • ro.product.name=komodo
  • ro.product.device=komodo
  • ro.build.flavor=komodo-user

2. Play Integrity & Key Attestation Ecosystem

  • PlayIntegrityFix (PIF): Automatically exports or updates /data/adb/pif.json with verified target properties.
  • TrickyStore Integration: Automatically populates /data/adb/tricky_store/target.txt with hardware attestation targets. If the module detects that your device lacks working hardware TEE key-box capabilities, it automatically enables teeBroken=true.
  • PropImitationHooks (PIHooks): Provides native internal property imitation fallback when external PIF modules are absent.

3. Custom ROM Sanitization

Custom ROM distributions often leak development signatures that fail banking app checks. Komodo scrubs:

  • test-keys release tags, setting them to release-keys.
  • Build flavors prefixed with lineage_, aosp_, or userdebug.
  • Bootloader lock flags (ro.boot.flash.locked=1, ro.boot.verifiedbootstate=green, and Samsung warranty bits).

Installation & Configuration

  1. Download the latest Komodo_beta_*.zip archive from GitHub releases.
  2. Install the zip via Magisk or KernelSU.
  3. Reboot your device.
  4. On KernelSU or APatch, you can launch the built-in WebUI dashboard to inspect active properties, manage PIF targets, and verify certification status.
