Overview
Managing virtual memory on Android often involves a difficult trade-off: relying strictly on physical RAM can lead to abrupt app closures when multitasking between heavy games and cameras, while relying heavily on slow flash-based swapfiles causes severe UI lag and storage wear.
Developed by yadavnikhil03, SwapBoost Pro is an intelligent memory optimization module for Magisk. It establishes a smart two-tier paging hierarchy: Android aggressively utilizes high-speed compressed zRAM (priority 100) for active background apps, while keeping a secondary disk-based swapfile at low priority (-2) solely as an emergency safety net to prevent Out-Of-Memory (OOM) crashes.
Core Mechanisms
- High-Priority zRAM: Directs Linux kernel page eviction algorithms to compress pages into fast RAM first. Because zRAM resides in physical memory, decompressing pages takes nanoseconds compared to reading flash storage.
- Fallback Safety Net: If zRAM becomes completely saturated under extreme loads, the kernel spills overflow pages onto the disk swapfile instead of abruptly killing background processes.
- SELinux Compatibility: Automatically applies necessary SELinux policy rules at startup, ensuring that low-level swapping routines execute without policy denials on strict Enforcing builds.
Installation & Configuration
- Download the latest
