Overview

Most Android junk file and cache cleaning solutions rely on cumbersome shell scripts that spawn hundreds of sub-processes (find, rm, du) sequentially, generating significant CPU thrashing and thermal buildup. Alternatively, user-space cleaning apps require persistent accessibility permissions and constant background memory overhead.

Developed by Xocio, CZero is an engineering-focused system cleaner designed from the ground up in native C++. Rather than running heavy shell loops or persistent service bloat, CZero employs an ultra-lightweight C++ daemon that reads a centralized config.json file. It schedules targeted cache sweeps for high-frequency applications, prunes empty folder structures, manages background app suppression, and initiates hardware-level F2FS garbage collection with minimal CPU utilization.

Architectural Design & Capabilities

1. Compiled C++ Daemon Architecture

By compiling file traversal, string pattern matching, and process monitoring directly into native machine code, CZero executes cleaning passes in milliseconds. The daemon does not hold long-term wake locks and reacts dynamically to filesystem triggers.

2. Live Configuration Reloads

All operational rules, target package lists, and cleanup intervals are governed by /data/adb/modules/czero/config.json. Any modification made to this file—either manually or through the CZeroX companion app—is detected immediately by inotify listeners and applied on the fly without requiring a device reboot.

3. F2FS Storage Maintenance

On devices formatted with the Flash-Friendly File System (F2FS), discarded storage blocks can become fragmented over time, degrading app launch speeds. CZero coordinates directly with kernel sysfs nodes to trigger timely F2FS Garbage Collection (GC) passes during idle windows, consolidating storage sectors safely.

4. CZeroX Native Companion

For everyday adjustments, users can install the native CZeroX application. The app communicates directly with the CZero root daemon to toggle app cleaning rules, inspect storage recovery statistics, and trigger manual deep cleans.

Installation & Setup

  1. Download the latest CZero .zip release from GitHub.
  2. Flash the module using Magisk, KernelSU, or APatch.
  3. Reboot your device.
  4. (Recommended) Install the companion CZeroX application from the release channel to customize cleaning schedules and review reclaimed storage.
