Overview

HyperOS Theme Manager Mod, maintained by Kashi under the Mods-Center organization, replaces the restrictive stock Xiaomi Theme Manager application with a modified V6 build. Stock HyperOS enforces strict DRM on themes: it blocks the importing of third-party .mtz theme packages, restricts access to theme assets from other geographic regions, requires commercial microtransactions for premium themes, and disables Super Icons on budget devices.

This systemless module circumvents these restrictions. By patching the Theme Manager APK systemlessly, it unlocks complete creative personalization while preserving the security integrity of the underlying system.

Prerequisites & Compatibility

  • Device & Operating System: Designed strictly for Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO hardware running HyperOS. Not compatible with AOSP, LineageOS, or other OEM skins.
  • Root Solutions: Magisk or KernelSU.
    • Incompatibility Note: Magisk Delta has documented compatibility issues with the APK replacement logic and is not recommended.
  • Stock China (CN) ROM Requirement: If running a stock China region ROM, you must flash the Apk Protection Patch module prior to installing this module to prevent Xiaomi’s integrity check from discarding modified system APKs.
  • App Vault Integration: To ensure that premium widgets load and function correctly on your home screen, it is strongly recommended to use a compatible modified App Vault module alongside Theme Manager.

  • Multi-Server Catalog: Queries multiple regional theme servers, unlocking thousands of themes otherwise restricted to specific Asian or European markets.
  • Super Icons on All Tiers: Brings 2x1, 1x2, and 2x2 dynamic icon shapes to budget devices where stock firmware disables them.

Installation & Usage

  1. If you are on a stock CN HyperOS build, flash the Apk Protection Patch module first and reboot.
  2. Download HyperOS_ThemeManagerV6*.zip from the official repository releases.
  3. Flash the module using Magisk or KernelSU.
  4. Reboot your device.
  5. Open the Themes app from your home screen:
    • Navigate to Profile > Themes > Import to import local .mtz files.
    • Browse the online catalog to apply themes and fonts.

Troubleshooting & Verification

  • Themes Revert to Default After a Few Minutes: If third-party themes reset to the stock theme after a short period, ensure that your device has disabled Xiaomi’s theme authorization daemon or verify that the companion patch modules are active.
  • Widgets Missing: If imported themes do not display interactive widgets on the home screen, install a compatible modified App Vault module and verify that system launcher permissions are granted.
